Fastener Industry Coalition

The Fastener Industry Coalition (FIC) is an unincorporated association comprised of both regional and national fastener associations, along with organizations that provide services to the fastener industry. Its membership represents a broad cross-section of the sector, including distributors, manufacturers, and importers.
Formed in the 1980s, the FIC quickly established itself as an influential voice in Washington. One of its earliest and most important achievements was its role in reshaping the Fastener Quality Act. By 1999, the Act was successfully revised – transforming what would have been a costly and burdensome regulation (potentially costing the industry billions of dollars) into a practical and effective framework that ensured product integrity without crippling businesses.

Over time, the FIC has become a central forum where fastener associations collaborate to address industry-wide issues. With representation from all regional associations, three national associations, and a training institute, the FIC is unique in its ability to unite the industry under a single coalition.
